How It Works

The beauty of Nithya lies in restoring connective tissue in the dermis. Nithya represents a natural type I collagen and when it is injected into the skin it triggers a powerful fibroblast that creates type III collagen – an essential element in anti-aging treatment. The creation of this collagen type happens because of the response of the immune system stimulated by cell regeneration and skin renewal.

Nithya triggers fibroblast, blood platelets, fibroblast and monocytes and stimulates neoangiogenesis.

Nithya is 100% hypoallergenic because it is made in completely sterile conditions from equine Achilles tendon tissue. Equine collagen is FDA approved and has been used to treat open wounds, scars, skin ulcers and bedsores. Nithya is made from the same collagen source and it represents the first injectable treatment for skin rejuvenation of that kind.

Nithya collagen matches the three-dimensional and the biochemical structure of the collagen that exists in the body. This makes it completely compatible with the body’s natural tissues. Also, it is highly purified and minimizes the risk of allergic reactions. Therefore, there are little to no side effects after the treatment.

Collagen is a protein responsible for keeping the skin firm and elastic. It is found in muscles, bones and the skin. It provides a supportive structure beneath the skin. In the middle layer of the skin or the dermis, collagen maintains the skin’s firmness with the help of fibroblast cells. It also keeps the skin moist and boosts skin cells regeneration and repair. It keeps the skin looking healthy and beautiful and prevents the skin from aging.

Collagen controls the synthesis and movement of different cellular proteins. It boosts the formation of fibroblast and granulation tissue. The collagen helps with the connection between platelets and coagulation factors. Collagen is also responsible for the appearance of new capillaries and it keeps the water bound to make the skin hydrated. One more thing, it eases the healing of wounds.

However, the collagen supply is not consistent and starts to decline in the late 20s. As the skin naturally matures the collagen in the dermis gradually decreases which leads to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and facial volume loss. There are some other factors that contribute to collagen loss like genetics, sun damage, pollution and stress.

Luckily, Nithya treatment boosts the production of new collagen and it is an efficient ally in slowing down the aging process.

Nithya is a preventive treatment that can slow down the process of aging by keeping the levels of collagen. It is a holistic approach to the production of collagen and restoring the face’s natural rejuvenation. With the treatment, patients can eliminate a broad range of aesthetic concerns and imperfections.

Nithya treatment can address:

  • Fine lines between the eyebrows and on the forehead
  • Fine lines around the lips and nasolabial folds
  • The jaw and chin area
  • Volume loss in the cheeks
  • Skin laxity
  • Scars, acne and stretch marks.
  • Fine lines on the neck and décolletage
  • Hands, arms and other parts of the body
  • Lesions caused by trauma

Nithya treatment can also be injected in the upper and lower abdomen, buttocks and thighs as a stretchmark treatment.

After the final treatment session, the patient can see a significant improvement in skin appearance. There are noticeable rejuvenation effects that include:

  • Wrinkles and line lines on the face especially around the lips are noticeably reduced
  • Wrinkles on the neck and décolletage are less visible
  • The skin is firmer, more elastic and smoother and the skin’s tone and texture is improved
  • The skin is more hydrated and the face appears healthy and youthful
  • Stretch marks, scars and acne scars are noticeably reduced
  • Photo-aging on the face, neck, décolletage and hands is greatly reduced

Nithya treatment is safe with minimal to no side effects and effective. It is hypoallergenic and suitable for all skin types and tones. It regenerates the soft tissue of the face, neck, décolletage and body.

Nithya treatment is suitable for both men and women older than 25, who wish to boost the production of collagen, reduce the fine lines around the eyes and restore the lost volume in the cheeks. Also, ideal candidates are patients who want to make their skin firmer and thicker, or who wish to rejuvenate and soften their skin on the neck and décolletage.

Nithya treatment is not suitable for ladies who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Also, patients who are prone to keloid scars, or suffer from auto-immune diseases or diabetes should avoid this treatment. Patients who have inflammations around the targeted areas, take blood thinners medications, have dermatological skin illnesses or have a herpetic infection.

When the patient arrives at Lucia Clinic, first he/she is consulted with the Nithya therapist. The therapist examines the patient’s skin on the face, neck, décolletage and hands to determine if the patient is a suitable candidate for this treatment. Also, the therapist discusses with the patient his/her goals and expectations from the treatment. The patient talks about the previous medical conditions or if he/she has any allergies. Then the treatment plan is created that will specifically address the patient’s skin concerns.

When the treatment starts, the therapist prepares the Nithya product and places it into a syringe.

The Nithya package consists of a glass bottle that contains equine type I collagen in a form of a powder. It is completely sterile and pyrogen-free. The therapist dilutes the Nithya powder with double distilled water or saline.

The patient receives local anesthesia to experience the treatment as comfortably as possible. Then the therapist thoroughly cleans the targeted treatment areas. Finally, the therapist injects the collagen with very fine needles into the strategically targeted points on the patient face, neck, décolletage or hands. The needles are injected at a 15degrees angle into the dermis. The therapist may need several injections all depending on the severity of skin concerns. The therapist massages the injected sites to make sure that the collagen is evenly smoothed out.

The treatment can last between 20 to 30minutes. It all depends on how many body areas are treated.

Since the Nithya treatment is only minimally invasive, there is little to no downtime. The patient doesn’t need to take time off work or social activities.

Typically, some patients experience tenderness, bruising, swelling and mild pain on the injected sites. All the sensitivities should stop after a few days.

The initial results like the plumping of the skin can be seen really quickly after the treatment. As time passes, the skin gets more and more rejuvenated. The patient notices that his/her skin is becoming firmer, hydrated, smoother and radiant - all because of the new collagen that is building up. The effects of lifting and tightening start to be visible.

Usually, a course of Nithya treatments involves four-session two weeks spaced out. The first results are visible 10 to14 days after the first treatment session.

Results can last from 12 to 18 months all depending on the patient’s age and lifestyle.

Since Nithya collagen is natural it doesn’t last forever. Over time, the protein gradually breaks down and is absorbed by the patient’s body. The patient may decide to have additional touch-ups to maintain the results.

The patient should avoid touching the treated area at least for 6 hours after the treatment. Light makeup can be applied after that. The treated area can be washed with a gentle cleanser and water.

The treated area shouldn’t be exposed to heat from sunbeds or direct sunlight or to extreme cold.

Blood-thinning medications like Aspirin should be avoided to lower the risk of bruising.

If the patient needs to go outside and expose to the sun, he/she must apply a high SPF to prevent sun damage.
