  • WHAT DOES THE RF PIXEL TREATMENT INVOLVE?

    When the patient arrives at Lucia Clinic, first he/she is consulted with the therapist. The therapist examines the patient’s skin on the face or other body areas to determine if the patient is a good candidate for this treatment. Then the therapist creates a customized treatment plan that will address the patient’s specific skin concerns and meet the patient’s expectations. The protocol includes determining the proper treatment parameters, depth and volume of the energy that is emitted during the treatment. The therapist also determines the number of treatment sessions.

    Before the treatment, the patient’s skin is numbed with the anesthetic cream in order to make the treatment more comfortable.

    The treatment is done in two steps.

    Step 1
    involves creating micro-channels with the RF Pixel applicator or a roller and Microplasma particles. The patient feels a tingling sensation and gradual heat. These micro-channels represent a path to deep skin layers. Only a small part of the tissue is ablated. Simultaneously, microplasma makes controlled heat damage through focused energy to the top layer of the skin and triggers the body’s natural processes for healing which eventually substitutes the damaged tissue like a scar for example, with the healthy one. The healthy tissue actually speeds up the recovery.     The number of RF Pixel treatment sessions depends on the patient’s skin conditions. Usually, it is recommended to get 3 to 4 treatment sessions 4 weeks apart.   • RF PIXEL TREATMENT DOWNTIME AND SIDE EFFECTS

    After the treatment, the patient’s skin is moderately red and swollen for a couple of hours. The patient might feel a hot sunburn sensation. The skin also feels tight. The next day, the skin is less red and becomes dry. In the next few days, the treated skin area will start to peel and reveal the healthy new skin underneath.

    The downtime usually lasts for 5 days. After that most patients can resume all their social activities.
